30 Jun 2015 WATER-PERFORMANCE FROM MORGAN GRP IN THE RNLI MUMBLES RAFT RACE

together.jpgI’m sure you always suspected the Morgan GRP was peopled with superheroes - and we proved our mettle at the RNLI Mumbles Raft Race on July 28.

Dressed as Superman, the Marines and Baywatch characters, Morgan Marine Ltd, Envico and PSF staff took to the water for charity in some less-than-seaworthy vessels, to help celebrate the 30th anniversary of the fun race from Norton to Knab Rock.

Amid much egg and flour lobbing and some unceremonious dunkings a victory of a kind was declared, with Morgan Marine Ltd taking third prize on the day for raising more than £1,000.

In the race itself, Envico came in a close fourth and were presented with a trophy for their water-borne efforts, Morgan Marine Ltd achieved a respectable sixth position in a field of thirty, and PSF managed to avoid being the last over the finish line.

Production Manager Kevin Howells said: “We were delighted to do our bit once again for this very worthy charity. The RNLI Raft Race is always an enjoyable event and one of the undoubted highlights for me this year was seeing the PSF raft adorned with a life-sized figure of our Group Managing Director Martyn Ingram dressed as Superman.”

“I’m a bit surprised this eye-catching effigy didn't do more to speed the PSF team on to first place in the race – perhaps there was some Kryptonite involved.”
