Design
Morgan Marine design all their buildings in accordance with BS 6399,
Part 2: Code of Practice for wind loadings; and, Part 3: Code of
practice for imposed roof loads, resulting in a construction that
will provide excellent strength and longevity of service in all
conditions for many years.
We also provide a full CAD service to design your building to your
exacting requirements, and if required we can superimpose your equipment
drawings to visualize the layout and highlight any potential conflicts
before the build.
Construction
All our buildings incorporate industry leading materials. We use
only hardwood WBP (Weather and Boil Proof) ply for the walls, and
combined with every building individually engineered for its location,
provides a very robust construction.
Insulation
Our standard construction provides a U-value of 2.2 W/m2/°C,
whilst being able to provide higher U values of 1.8 through to 0.4.
We can also achieve higher values of 0.35 and 0.25 for walls and
roof respectively, and even meet the 25% improvement in insulation
on these values to meet new government targets for CO2 emission
(2010 Target Emissions Rate).
Fire Resistance
Our standard 30min fire resistant construction has been tested in
accordance with BS476, part 22 and exceeded the 30min by satisfying
structural integrity criteria for 85 min and insulation for 42 min.
Morgan Marine has led the field in the research and development
of housings to resist a fire for 60 and 120 minutes. All our fire
ratings have been independently tested and verified using Warrington
Fire research and currently the British Research Establishment.
Sound Attenuation
When you need to reduce the sound energy emitted by your equipment,
Morgan Marine can offer a range of nominal attenuation levels. Our
standard construction offers a nominal 24dba acoustic performance,
other standard level of attenuation are: 26, 30-32, 35, 40 and 45
dBA.
HVAC
Morgan Marine will calculate the ventilation system most suited
to your application. This is based on the equipment heat that requires
disapation , the desired internal operating temperature of the housing
against the external ambient. Whether this be natural ventilation,
forced ventilation, Air Conditioning or Air Handling system.
Explosion Relief
An explosion relieving roof or panel can be used to safely discharge
the destructive energy from the ignition of an inflammable mixture
from within an enclosure. Morgan Marine has been supplying explosion
relief solutions for many years to companies across the gas and
electric industry. Comprehensive testing has been carried out on
our design; a video clip of testing can be viewed below.

As NICEIC approved contractors all the electrical installations
are carried out in accordance with current IEE regulations BS7671:2008
and to 17th Edition Regulations. Zone 0, 1 or 2 installation’s
can also be offered. Installation of customer’s equipment
can also be carried out at Morgan Marine.
Steel Options
Deflection calculations are performed on every steel base in accordance
with client equipment specification. A full design service is provided
to ensure the customer’s equipment interfaces correctly with
the base, cable and pipe apertures and corresponding gland plates
can also be incorporated.
Steel platforms and staircases are designed in accordance with the
following British Standards:
BS5395: Part 1, Code of Practice for the design, construction and
maintenance of straight stairs and winders
BS5395: Part 3, Code of Practice for the design of industrial type
stairs, permanent ladders and walkways
External Finishes
Semi-Gloss: The Morgan Marine semi-gloss
finish exhibits a smart, modern appearance. Our extensive
manufacturing facilities mean we can provide building sizes
to your exact requirements, in a time frame to suit the demands
of your schedule.
Textured: Morgan Marine’s budget
finish provides excellent value for money with a traditional
stippled appearance. Despite being a value solution, high
quality materials are used in its construction to ensure longevity
of service.
Brick Effect: An excellent alternative
finish when the surroundings of your new enclosure require
a traditional look. With a range of different brick and pointing
colours, a brick effect enclosure looks extremely effective
and takes a fraction of the time to build compared with a
normal brick build.
Stone: The Morgan Marine stone finish is
hand crafted to blend into your specific site requirements;
this can even include replicating moss! Morgan Marines stone
finish enclosures have been used by the Environment Agency
where the impact on the local surroundings has to be minimal.
Wood Grain: Our simulated wood grain reproduced
a very effective timber effect. Wood grain wall panels and
doors are available in a variety of colours, or combining
a timber effect door with the stone or brick finish gives
a very realistic traditional finish.
The colour of your enclosure can be chosen from the BS5252 or
RAL colour charts. Follow the link below to view an online colour
chart.
